With CBS in reruns for the second straight night, NBC scored a rare victory on Tuesday night, an evening CBS usually dominates.

NBC averaged a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating and 8 share, according to Nielsen overnights, well ahead of second-place ABC's 2.6/7.

The network was paced once again by "The Biggest Loser," which continues to see gains over last fall. "Loser" was the night's top-rated show, averaging a 3.7 from 8 to 10 p.m. That was up 16 percent over last year's 3.2 rating on the same night.

"Loser" undoubtedly benefited from the lesser competition on CBS. A rerun of the No. 1 show on television among total viewers, "NCIS," was still the night's top show, averaging 16.1 million. It was also the only other program on the night to post better than a 3.0 18-49 rating, earning a 3.2.

For the night, Fox placed third at 2.5/6, CBS fourth at 2.4/6, Univision fifth at 1.5/4 and CW sixth at 0.5/1.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Thirty-three percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

At 8 p.m. NBC was first with a 3.4 for “Loser,” followed by CBS with a 3.2 for a repeat of “NCIS.” ABC was third with a 2.7 for “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” Fox fourth with a 2.5 for “So You Think You Can Dance,” Univision fifth with a 1.5 for “El Nombre del Amor” and CW sixth with a 0.7 for a repeat of “90210.”

NBC was first again at 9 p.m. with a 4.0 for more “Loser,” with ABC second with a 2.9 for “Dancing with the Stars.” Fox was third with a 2.4 for more “Dance,” CBS fourth with a 2.2 for a repeat of “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Univision fifth with a 1.8 for “Sortilegio” and CW sixth with a 0.4 for a “Melrose Place” rerun.

ABC took the lead at 10 p.m. with a 2.0 for “The Forgotten,” while CBS and NBC tied for second at 1.8, CBS for a repeat of “The Good Wife” and NBC for “The Jay Leno Show.” Univision was fourth that hour with a 1.2 for “Aqui y Ahora.”

CBS led the night among households with a 7.8 average overnight rating and a 12 share. ABC was second at 6.6/11, NBC third at 5.2/8, Fox fourth at 4.0/6, Univision fifth at 2.0/3 and CW sixth at 0.8/1.
