CBS’s lineup of originals boosted the network to an easy victory last night, though neither the returning “CSI” nor “Without a Trace” were up over their season average.
CBS averaged a 4.6 adults 18-49 rating and 13 share, according to Nielsen overnights, well ahead of second-place Fox at 2.9/8 and third-place NBC at 2.6/7. “CSI” and “Without a Trace” both aired their first original episodes since January.
“CSI” averaged a 5.8 rating at 9 p.m., topping its last pre-strike original episode but off 8 percent from its season-to-date average of 6.3. At 10 p.m., “Trace” pulled a 4.1, even to its season-to-date average and up slightly over its most recent original, too.
NBC’s “My Name is Earl” also aired its first post-strike original, to so-so ratings. The hour-long episode finished second in its 8 p.m. timeslot behind CBS’s “Survivor: Micronesia,” averaging a 3.1 rating. That was up slightly from a 2.9 for its final original episode in January, but below its season-to-date 3.3 average.
Meanwhile, for the night, Univision placed fourth at 1.7/5, ABC fifth at 1.5/4 and CW sixth at 0.8/2.
