Usual Monday victor CBS fell to second place last night as ABC took the night with a country music special.

The three-hour “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” averaged a 2.1 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, putting ABC 0.1 ahead of CBS for the evening.

The special was well up from last year, when it averaged a 1.4 rating, and it boosted ABC 62 percent compared to last week, when the network drew a 1.3 rating on the night.

(Note: ABC did carry football in Minneapolis last night, which may have artificially inflated its ratings.)

“CMA” peaked with a 2.3 from 10 to 10:30 p.m., though it was not the night’s top-rated show.

That honor went once again to CBS’s “The Big Bang Theory,” which outdrew lead-in “Two and a Half Men” for the fourth straight week. A “Bang” repeat averaged a 2.6 rating to a “Men” rerun’s 2.3.

As aforementioned, ABC finished first for the night among 18-49s with a 2.1 average overnight rating and a 6 share. CBS was second at 2.0/6, while Univision, NBC and Fox all tied for third at 1.4/4 and the CW was sixth at 0.5/2.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Thirty-two percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

At 8 p.m. ABC was first with a 2.1 for the first hour of “CMA,” followed by CBS with a 1.6 for repeats of “How I Met Your Mother.” Fox was third with a 1.5 for a “House” rerun, Univision fourth with a 1.4 for “El Nombre del Amor,” NBC fifth with a 1.1 for a repeat of “Law & Order: Criminal Intent” and CW sixth with a 0.6 for a repeat of “One Tree Hill.”

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 2.5 for repeats of “Men” and “Bang,” while ABC slipped to second with a 2.2 for more “CMA.” Univision was third with a 1.8 for “Mañana Es para Siempre,” NBC fourth with a 1.4 for another “L&O: CI” rerun, Fox fifth with a 1.3 for a repeat of “Lie to Me” and CW sixth with a 0.5 for a “Gossip Girl” repeat.

ABC regained the lead at 10 p.m. with a 2.1 for the final hour of “CMA,” while CBS and NBC tied for second at 1.8, CBS for a repeat of “CSI: Miami” and NBC for “Dateline.” Univision was fourth with a 1.0 for “Cristina.”

ABC also led the night among households with a 5.0 average overnight rating and an 8 share. CBS was second at 4.6/8, NBC third at 3.8/6, Fox fourth at 2.7/4, Univision fifth at 1.9/3 and CW sixth at 1.0/2.
