Big tune-in for 'Bachelor' beef session

Two months after “Bachelor” Brad rejected both of them in a shocking season finale, Jenni and DeAnna returned to confront the man who broke their hearts and ticked them off in last night’s “The Bachelor: After the Final Rose,” the reality franchise’s regular post-finale post-mortem.

While Brad did little to re-endear himself to his would-be gal pals, insisting again that he made the right decision by walking away without a new mate, he did a lot for ABC’s ratings.

“Rose” averaged a 4.1 adults 18-49 rating at 10 p.m., according to Nielsen overnights, winning its timeslot over usual victor “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” on NBC.

Of course that number may include a bit of overrun from the penultimate results episode of “Dancing with the Stars,” which aired at 9 p.m. on ABC. But even so, ABC saw strong ratings in a slot where it usually finishes a distant second.

Last week “Boston Legal” earned a 2.9 in the same timeslot for ABC, which had a much stronger Tuesday overall as well. The network averaged a 4.1 rating and 11 share, up 41 percent over last week’s third-place 2.9/8.

In addition to “Stars,” up 20 percent over last week, and “Rose,” ABC got a boost from two Peanuts specials at 8 p.m., which nearly doubled last week’s 8 p.m. average for “Carpoolers” and “Cavemen.”

On Monday night, “Bachelor’s” finale hit a season high with 18-49s, up 8 percent over last fall. Brad declined to choose either of the remaining bachelorettes, and last night tried to defend his decision while seeing the women for the first time in months.

Meanwhile, Fox finished first for the night among viewers 18-49 with a 4.9 average overnight rating and a 13 share. ABC was second at 4.1/11, NBC third at 3.4/9, CBS fourth at 2.9/8, Univision fifth at 2.0/3 and CW sixth at 1.0/3.
 
CBS began the night in the lead with a 3.7 at 8 p.m. for “NCIS,” followed by ABC with a 3.4 for an hour of “Charlie Brown” specials. Fox was third with a 3.0 for “Bones,” NBC fourth with a 2.8 for its first hour of “The Biggest Loser,” Univision fifth with a 1.4 “Amar sin Limites” and CW sixth with a 1.2 for “Beauty and the Geek.”
 
At 9 p.m. Fox took the lead with a 6.8 for “House,” with ABC second with a 4.9 for the “Stars” results show. NBC was third with a 3.4 for its second half of “Loser,” CBS fourth with a 3.0 for “The Unit,” Univision fifth with a 2.6 for “Destilando Amor” and CW sixth with a 0.8 for a repeat of “Reaper.”
 
ABC moved into first place at 10 p.m. with a 4.1 for “Rose,” while NBC moved into second with a 3.9 for “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” CBS was third with a 2.0 for “Cane” and Univision fourth with a 1.0 for “Como Ama una Mujer.”
 
Among households, ABC was first for the night with a 9.2 average overnight rating and a 14 share. Fox was second at 7.6/12, CBS third at 7.5/12, NBC fourth at 5.8/9, Univision fifth at 2.0/3 and CW sixth at 1.4/2.
