for 'Deal Or No Deal' NBC game show averages a 2.8 in adults 18-49 Aug 26, 2008 The Olympics are done but NBC is still winning in primetime, albeit by a much smaller margin. The network took Monday night among adults 18-49 by winning all three hours with solid, though not strong, numbers. The season premiere of “Deal or No Deal” kicked off at 8 p.m. with a 2.8 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights. That’s off 18 percent from the show’s 3.4 season average last year, though some declines were certainly expected. The new season doesn’t officially begin for nearly a month. Still, “Deal” handily won its hour and was NBC’s top show on the night. “America’s Toughest Jobs,” the newly launched reality show leading out of “Deal,” averaged a 2.6, holding a decent 93 percent of its lead-out and winning its 9 p.m. timeslot. With some momentum entering the final hour, NBC far outdistanced the other networks in its Democratic National Convention coverage, averaging a 1.5 to CBS’s 0.9 and ABC’s 0.8. As a reminder, the DNC coverage was live, and thus fast nationals may be inaccurate, since they are not time zone adjusted. Nielsen will release updated ratings this afternoon. NBC finished first for the night among viewers 18-49 with a 2.3 average overnight rating and a 6 share. Univision was second at 1.9/5, CBS third at 1.8/5, Fox fourth at 1.6/5, ABC fifth at 0.8/2 and CW sixth at 0.7/2.
