CBS's "The Big Bang Theory" has become Monday night's top show in adults 18-49, and last night it even managed to beat lead-in "Two and a Half Men" in total viewers, a first.

"Bang" averaged a season-high 5.2 adults 18-49 rating at 9:30 p.m., according to Nielsen, 16 percent ahead of the night's No. 2 show, Fox's "House" (4.5).

"Bang" also hit a series-high 14.2 million total viewers, growing on its "Men" lead-in by 300,000.

That helped pace CBS to first for the night among 18-49s, with three of its four comedies up over last week, all except "Men," which was flat.

That came against strong competition from ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," which aired the first half of a two-night finale. "Stars" hit a season high with 20.5 million total viewers, down 600,000 from the same night last year but a smaller dip than it had been averaging this season.

Among 18-49s, the 90-minute episode averaged a season-high 4.1, down 16 percent from a 4.8 last year.

CBS was first for the night among 18-49s with a 4.0 average overnight rating and a 10 share. Fox was second at 3.6/9, ABC third at 3.4/9, NBC fourth at 1.8/5, Univision fifth at 1.4/4 and CW sixth at 0.6/1.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Thirty-three percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

Fox was first at 8 p.m. with a 4.5 for “House,” followed by ABC with a 3.8 for “Stars.” CBS was third with a 3.4 for “How I Met Your Mother” (3.7) and “Accidentally on Purpose” (3.2), NBC fourth with a 2.3 for “Heroes,” Univision fifth with a 1.3 for “El Nombre del Amor” and CW sixth with a 0.6 for a “One Tree Hill” rerun.

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with a 5.0 for “Men” (4.7) and “Bang” (5.2), while ABC remained second with a 3.7 for more “Stars” (4.6) and a sneak preview of the new show "Find My Family" (2.9). Fox was third with a 2.7 for “Lie to Me,” Univision fourth with a 1.8 for “Sortilegio,” NBC fifth with a 1.6 for “Trauma” and CW sixth with a 0.6 for a repeat of “Gossip Girl.”

At 10 p.m. CBS was first again with a 3.7 for “CSI: Miami,” with ABC second with a season-high 2.7 for “Castle.” NBC was third with a 1.4 for “The Jay Leno Show” and Univision fourth with a 1.2 for “Cristina.”

ABC led the night among households with a 10.1 average overnight rating and a 16 share. CBS was second at 7.3/11, Fox third at 5.7/8, NBC fourth at 3.1/5, Univision fifth at 1.9/3 and CW sixth at 0.9/1.
