On a stronger night across the board for the broadcast networks compared to last week, "American Idol" showed a bit more muscle heading into next week's penultimate performances.

"Idol" averaged a 6.7 adults 18-49 rating, according to Nielsen overnights, up 12 percent over last week's season-low 6.0 overnight average.

The final four performers also drew 18.7 million total viewers in the 8 p.m. timeslot. The finale airs two weeks from tonight.

The competition on the Big Four was tougher than last week, with CBS (up 14 percent), ABC (up 7 percent) and NBC (up 3 percent) all rising compared with last Tuesday's nightly averages.

CBS's "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" in particular revived from last week's season lows, going from a 3.1 to a 3.8 and a 2.8 to a 3.3, respectively.

The competition in the 10 p.m. hour was closer than it's been in weeks, with NBC's "Parenthood" prevailing just barely over CBS's "The Good Wife" with a 2.6 to the latter's 2.5. ABC's "V" was right behind at 2.4.

Fox was first for the night among viewers 18-49 with a 5.7 average overnight rating and a 15 share. CBS was second at 3.2/8, NBC third at 3.1/8, ABC fourth at 3.0/8, Univision fifth at 1.6/4 and CW sixth at 0.5/1.

As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Thirty-six percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.

At 8 p.m. Fox led with a 6.7 for “Idol,” followed by CBS with a 3.8 for “NCIS.” NBC was third with a 3.1 for “The Biggest Loser,” ABC fourth with a 2.5 for “Dancing with the Stars,” Univision fifth with a 1.7 for “Hasta que el Dinero Nos Separe” and CW sixth with a 0.7 for “90210.”

Fox was first again at 9 p.m. with a 4.8 for “Glee,” while ABC moved to second with a 4.0 for “Lost.” NBC was third with a 3.6 for more “Loser,” CBS fourth with a 3.3 for “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Univision fifth with a 2.0 for more “Dinero” and CW sixth with a 0.3 for a repeat of “Life Unexpected.”

NBC took the lead at 10 p.m. with a 2.6 for “Parenthood,” with CBS second with a 2.5 for “The Good Wife.” ABC was third with a 2.4 for “V” and Univision fourth with a 1.0 for “Aqui y Ahora.”

Among households, CBS led the night with a 9.4 average overnight rating and a 15 share. Fox was second at 8.7/13, ABC third at 6.0/10, NBC fourth at 4.7/7, Univision fifth at 1.9/3 and CW sixth at 0.7/1.
