Fox finished first last night against another evening of repeats on CBS, but new show "Alcatraz" saw a week-to-week slide.
"Alcatraz" averaged a 2.7 at 9 p.m., according to Nielsen, down 10 percent from the previous week's 3.0 and off 18 percent from its debut two weeks ago, though it did tie for first in its timeslot.
It wasn't alone. Lead-in "House" slid 10 percent from the previous week as well, finishing first in its timeslot as well against CBS's reruns.
Though the two shows certainly seem compatible, registering very close ratings, Fox may see further declines for both next week, when CBS's wildly popular comedies return to originals for sweeps.
Meanwhile, elsewhere last night, the 100th episode of "Gossip Girl" on the CW drew its second-biggest audience of the season, 1.37 million, and was up over the previous week in every major demographic.
Fox was first for the night among 18-49s with a 2.8 average overnight rating and a 7 share. CBS was second at 2.3/6, ABC third at 2.2/6, Univision fourth at 1.5/4, NBC fifth at 1.3/3, and CW and Telemundo tied for sixth at 0.6/2.
As a reminder, all ratings are based on live-plus-same-day DVR playback, which includes shows replayed before 3 a.m. the night before. Seven-day DVR data won’t be available for several weeks. Forty-three percent of Nielsen households have DVRs.
At 8 p.m. Fox led with a 2.8 for "House," followed by CBS with a 2.6 for repeats of "How I Met Your Mother" and "2 Broke Girls." ABC was third with a 2.5 for "The Bachelor," NBC fourth with a 1.7 for "Who's Still Standing?," Univision fifth with a 1.4 for "El Talisman," CW sixth with a 0.7 for "Gossip Girl" and Telemundo seventh with a 0.6 for "Una Maid en Manhattan."
Fox and ABC tied for the lead at 9 p.m., each with a 2.7 rating, Fox for "Alcatraz" and ABC for more "Bachelor." CBS was third with a 2.6 for repeats of "Two and a Half Men" and "Mike & Molly," Telemundo fourth with a 1.7 for "La Que No Podia Amar," NBC fifth with a 1.5 for a repeat of "Fear Factor," and CW and Telemundo tied for sixth at 0.6, CW for "Hart of Dixie" and Telemundo for "Flor Salvaje."
CBS moved to first at 10 p.m. with a 1.7 for a repeat of "Hawaii Five-0," with ABC second with a 1.4 for a "Castle" rerun. Univision was third with a 1.3 for "Don Francisco Presenta," NBC fourth with a 0.8 for "Rock Center with Brian Williams" and Telemundo fifth with a 0.5 for "Relaciones Peligrosas."
ABC edged the competition for the night among households with a 5.2 average overnight rating and an 8 share. CBS was second at 5.1/8, Fox third at 5.0/7, NBC fourth at 2.9/4, Univision fifth at 1.9/3, CW sixth at 1.0/1 and Telemundo seventh at 0.8/1.
