Automotive: With strong sales,
ad spending should rise smartly

U.S. car sales surged to close out 2011, ending the strongest year for the automotive industry since 2007, and the expectation is that 2012 will be even better.

Improving unemployment numbers, fewer inventory problems for the Japanese automakers, and a big push by domestic brands should help sales. . . .
